EFFICIENT FRONTIER LAUNCHES OFFICE IN UNITED KINGDOM TO CAPITALIZE ON EUROPEAN PAID SEARCH AD INDUSTRY GROWTH
Mountain View, Calif., & London - September 27, 2006 - Efficient Frontier, the leading provider of search engine marketing (SEM) solutions, today announced that it has opened a new office in the United Kingdom that will serve as its base of European operations to take advantage of the rapid growth in the European paid search advertising market. Chris Zaharias, Efficient Frontier's senior vice president of strategic initiatives, will head European Operations for the agency.

Efficient Frontier's excitement about the potential of paid search industry growth globally is supported by financial analysts. According to a January 2006 Piper Jaffray report, paid search advertising generated an estimated $10 billion globally in 2005, and that figure is expected to grow 41 percent in 2006 to more than $14 billion.
"The European market is experiencing explosive growth and change in the paid search advertising sector, but advertisers are looking for more effective ways to manage their SEM campaigns on Google and the other major search platforms," said Zaharias. According to the Interactive Advertising Bureau Europe, European marketers spent roughly 6.4 billion Euro in online advertising during 2005. Specifically, spending for the five largest nations in Western Europe - France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the U.K. - reached 1,863 million Euro in 2005, which was a 38.2 percent gain from 2004 spending. These statistics all point to the continued growth of paid search and online advertising in Europe.
In addition to Zaharias, David White joins the U.K.-based team to head up account management in the region. White was Efficient Frontier's first employee and brings an extensive client knowledge base and experience helping clients make the most of their paid search spend.
